Traditions mean a lot to Russia. There aren't many of them, but each isvery warm and cozy. That's how, back in 2012, the first Snow Queenanimated movie appeared it won children's hearts at once as well asmade adults believe in magic and hope to see its sequel Time passes So, at the end of 2016, the third instalment of the franchise wasreleased already.
Some people anticipated it, others were a bit worried as we're alwaysa little afraid to get disappointed in something we like. Fortunately, that didn't happen but let's start from the beginning
There's no point in re-telling the plot, as a lot of people havealready seen the movie or read other reviews. I'd rather share myimpressions and emotions with you instead.
What I liked most of all was the fact that the characters had grown up,they encountered problems that I think everyone does encounter, andfaced a really hard choice between good and evil. I think I needed moredrama and the characters' inner feelings, but the image itselfcompensated really well. The audience watches its bright colors andfantastic nature sceneries during the whole movie length, so I caughtmyself thinking that I wouldn't have guessed that The Snow Queen 3 is aRussian movie if I hadn't known it in the beginning.
I'd like to mention the music separately. The soundtrack is verypositive and stays in your head for a long time after you've left themovie theater.
In short, I'd recommend the movie to those who wants to keep their NewYear and Christmas mood going for longer, to have a good time, and justto get absorbed in the world of magic fairy tales.

The first Snow Queen story by the Russian animated studio Wizart cameinto being in 2012. Now, in four years after the first premiere, we cansee colossal evolution of the Russian animation. The graphics and thecharacters clean-up have improved now we see brighter colors, moreinteresting costumes, and more scenic locations. Of course, there isnothing left of the initial story of Kai and Gerda, children livingnext door to one another, from Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale. Theteenagers from the new story have grown up, acquired more difficulttempers, lost their parents, but gained a huge experience in the showbusiness. Then, as one would expect, the brother's and the sister'spaths separated. She, like any girl, chose to follow her heart as wellas the new guy called Rollan, whereas Kai became an animateddownshifter a pirate artist. Both the family division and excessivecuriosity placed the whole Troll Country under a threat. It is worthmentioning that the participation of the Hollywood screenwriter RobertLence and the Comedy Club show stars turned out very useful the moviebecame funnier but sometimes, like in all Russian masterpieces, thiswent a little bit too far. It should also be pointed out that theRussian animation is becoming interesting abroad too: releases inKorea, Bulgaria, Turkey and countries of the Middle East are plannedfor the beginning of 2017. I would like to wish successful distributionto The Snow Queen and a great enjoyable time watching the movie tothe audience.

Being the third part of Snow Queen franchise The Snow Queen 3: Fire andIce has gained and improved its own graphic style and has gotten betterin visual effects. I really enjoyed the fantastic scenery the storydeveloped in, all those mountain gorges, snow avalanches, volcanoeruptions, a pirate ship skiing in magnificent landscapes and a trainmade of ice.
The thing I also liked is that although being a sequel The Snow Queen 3is independent from other parts and if you haven't watched the previousones it is not a problem at all. You can start watching this part andenjoy it not knowing the previous stories.
As for the message of the animation the story tells about vital things:the importance of being a family, the choice everyone makes betweengood and evil and that everyone should treasure their relations. Thesethemes are important for our children and it is good that animatedfeature films touch these things in their plots. The final fight sceneis very impressive and the evil has been defeated.
As for the weak points the thing I lacked is some well memorized andcatchy song although the music of The Snow Queen 3 is impressive.
The rare gift of getting into all kinds of trouble is their family trait. What else can you expect from the ones raised among trolls in snowy lands? But now Kai and Gerda have grown up and entered a new stage - this time they are going to cause a global disaster...
