Some teenagers decide to run an experiment on their grumpy, creepy oldneighbour. They decide to see if they can make him believe in ghosts byrigging his house with cameras and tricks.
Now on paper this does not have a lot going for it. It is fairly cheap, has a found footage element and sounds like a rip-off of the Burbs orDisturbia. Well it isn't - this is much more.
For once it makes sense that everything is filmed and the added elementof a court case adds a degree of mystery to the film.
The characters and performances are great. The scope of the film istiny, only a few rooms, so the tight budget is not a problem andeverything looks professional.
There is no mass of action or intensity here but I found this moviegripping, intriguing, and some of the back story even a little moving.
I may be in the minority but pound for pound this is one of the bestmovies I have seen all year.

This movie was a great surprise, I didn't know anything about it butfound it on iTunes and took the gamble as the trailer was intriguing.Itdid not disappoint, what could have quite easily been another shaky cammess of a home footage film turned out to be a real gem. This filmbuilds nicely and despite the simple plot does a great job keeping youon the edge of your seat. The film is also edited in such a way that itkeeps you guessing but then slowly feeds you the tid bits to keep yougoing. At no point was I bored watching this movie although I wasworried it would be a bit of an Americanised college "bro" movie 5minutes in, stick with it and enjoy where this goes. The film is basedin two houses and given the limited location you'd think it would bequite easy to get bored by this however the director seems to ramp thetension up and down in all the right ways. I can't recommend thisenough and it had my girlfriend in tears. Well worth a watch!

I have stated many times that sometimes the biggest gems when it comesto movies, is often the ones you never heard about. This was one ofthem. Before watching it, I had never heard anything about it.
I'm a fan of the so called 'found footage' genre. So when I read thesynopsis of this movie, saying 'experiment', 'haunted', 'camerasurveillance', I had already decided to watch it.
Do not worry, I never spoil.
Two friends decide to do an experiment. They want to see if they canmake a person believe they are being haunted, without it actually beingso. To do so they rig the house of an old man with cameras and somemechanics to simulate the haunting.
This is what the synopsis said, and this is indeed what about 20minutes of the movie wears out. But then, well... the movie changes. Now because I absolutely do not wish to spoil anything, I won't tellyou anything more about the actual plot or story.
The only thing I want you to know is. GO. WATCH. THIS.
I was absolutely blown away by the acting of James Caan, in my opinionthis was close to Academy Award Nomination worthy.
I absolutely recommend this movie.
A pair of mischievous high school kids create the illusion of a haunting on an unsuspecting neighbor. While keeping his every reaction under surveillance, they see much more than they bargained for.
