This is a charming tale of double standards and age discrimination inour society. It isn't an earth shatteringly intelligent film andrequires no concentration to watch it after a long, hard day. Thescenery is stunning and Heather Locklear, the heroine is lovely.
The heroine is divorced, after her husband went off with an airheadbimbo who allows the kids to eat what they want. We are informed thatBimbo is 14 years younger than the husband. Which everyone justaccepts. No problem. But when the heroine has a holiday fling with ahandsome young man... whoooa ... everyone raises an eyebrow. As I saiddouble standards. Why? The young male lover is seriously decorative. You can watch this at a couple of levels, lazing in the armchair with aglass of wine or pondering life's injustices. It won't get any awardsbut it's OK.

Since I has nothing else, I started watching this movie...I planned towatch it only for 10 mins, but it became quite interesting and I had towatch the end before I sleep...till the end I was not sure how thiswould end, though I has a slight feeling that it might end like this..... I could clearly see how much trouble/complications it would be tohave hawaii lover and 2 kids back at Denver... this is anice, slow, pleasant movie to watch and feel good. I just loved thehawaii lover, though he looked young for the heroine...:-( And the 2kids are good too...The hawaii scenes could have been better, I meanthey could have shown more hawaii stuff & places. If it comes on TV,try to watch...U may like it :-)

I thought this was a sweet and contemporary story.
A woman is divorced and lives the hard life as a single mom of two. When she turns 40 she reaches a turning point of her life and realizesthat she really can enjoy all the aspects of her life, she meets a muchyounger attractive surfer and her friends begin to worry about herchoice and think that she's reached a midlife crisis. She is happy andin love, could life be any better?
I thought this movie was very romantic and sweet, and it raises somegood points about age differences and love. I liked it because I feltlike I could very easily relate to the story. I also must mention thatHeather Locklear looks as great as ever.
Jackie Laurens (Heather Locklear) is a recently divorced, 40-year-old and mother of two pre-teen kids who takes a vacation alone to Hawaii where, against her better judgment, she meets and hooks up with a hunky, much younger resident surf instructor named Kyle Hamilton (Robert Buckley). But what began as a one-night stand turns into love as when her vacation is done, she flies to Hawaii every chance she gets to meet with her latest love interest, which soon gets disapproval from her ex-husband, her teenage kids, and even her close friends. As time and the pressure from everyone around her to break it off with Kyle pushes Jackie to her breaking point, it will only take her beau Kyle to teach her how to cope before life passes her by.
