Watched this on the plane ride back from Toronto. What a surprise!Unique plot, great acting and awesome scenery! Wasn't sure if it wouldkeep me awake on the flight or not, but it sure did (which was a goodthing!). Although the plane rated it as comedy/drama, I would have todisagree... drama all the way. Thank goodness for Canadian content! Thetwo main actors did a great job. They remind me of two famous Hollywoodactors, I'm sure you'll know who I mean... I mainly came to IMDb to seewho the actors were and where it was filmed, but then decided that thisfilm needed another review! I will be sure to watch more of theCanadian films when on my next flight. I encourage you to do the same.

Watched this on a plane back from Winnipeg. The great Canadianexperience, visit Winnipeg, then watch a movie about 2 guys stuck inthe Rockies.
Although some parts of it is very typical Canadian, they do try to makeit relatable to non-Canadians by adding a couple of interestingcharacteristics to each of the main characters in the movie. And Ithink they were on the right path but could have done more withit...become even more adventurous with the plot and explore the themesof fatherhood, wilderness, success (and failure), and in general thehuman condition.
But that might have compromised the realism and the message of realdanger in situations such as this (which is very real). Canadianwilderness is very beautiful but can be dangerous as well if you're notproperly prepared.
Mountain Men is a comedy/drama that follows two estranged brothers, Toph and Cooper, as they journey to a remote family cabin in the mountains to evict a squatter. Buried resentment and bruised egos soon derail the plan and when the smoke clears they've destroyed their car and burned down the cabin, leaving them stranded in the cold Rocky Mountain winter. With their very survival at stake, they must learn to work together as brothers to get back to civilization.
