I am not like any of the "reviewers" on this so far. I am 42, male andI leave my house more than once a week to interact with real humans. The actress is just fine unless your a racist then you have "other"issues unrelated to the movie. So unlike the US election for corporatepuppet and subsequent fallout this movie will take some thought tounravel and puzzle over.
At the start if the movie I was (shall we say) "Oh hell no" as itappeared to be one of those "torture porn" movies. I had to stop myselfand say "OK, sure there is this chilling, sickening feeling I haveabout this but so far no mutilation type sickness that is traditionaltorture porn.
I am so glad I could work through the fear and hang in to ride the ridethat is this movie. I know a good movie of this kind by how fast timeflew by watching, how often I am saying "what? why this? what does thismean?" I left by brain with the coat check girl half way through themovie as the suspense and sights had me in a daze simply gasping andfilled with questions. All the while the dark, scary setting put me offthe usual feeling have watching sci-fi flicks (my favorites).
Then presto! Ending time and one that although I thought could have hada variety of more interesting executions comes off "good enough." Youare left with the thoughts of "Is this good or evil?" "Could thisreally be something?" Well it was a good movie, it pushed boundariesfor me without crossing lines AND it really was something as theoverall plot consists of a very sci-fi (Science Fact, perhaps?) drivenphilosophy.

The first film I watched with this actress was Prometheus....In it shewas as irritating and annoying as fingernails scratching a chalkboard.
My first impression of her proved right. In Rupture, she is awful asalways. She is to a film what an iceberg was to the Titanic. I onlywonders who decided that she could act.
Now add Ms Rapace, to a film without a coherent script, a "scifish"meandering story that does not go anywhere and one has the perfectrecipe for a cinematographic bomb where the best acting and linesbelonged to the spiders used in this celluloid atrocity.
I like bad films, but the kind of film that is so bad that is good.Rupture is only bad, a sickeningly bad porn-torture film.
Do yourself a favor and skip this aberration.

I don't want to give a spoiler, but let me say that the plot iscompletely derivative. The "science" is not even bad enough to laughat. The acting is uniformly shlocky, as if the actors watched the worsthorror movies and copied all the moves. Is Noomi Rapace completelydreadful? Honestly, no, but she can't save this dud. Do yourself afavor and pound some nails into your hand, or watch the complete oeuvreof Caspar van Dien, instead of this movie. At least you wouldn't havethe pain of completely failed expectations. I would put this movie atabout on par with the recent Flytrap, and just slightly better thanISRA88. If you know those films, you will get my meaning.
